Alnwick town is on the south bank of the River Aln, 32 miles (51 km) south of Berwick-upon-Tweed and the Scottish border, 5 miles (8 km) inland from the North Sea at Alnmouth and 34 miles (55 km) north of Newcastle upon Tyne.

The 5,391 Lanarkshire convoy and 20 other crates from others were away at 07 30am in a light S/W wind. The winners recorded around 1490s velocity for the 95 miles back into lower central Scotland.

The race again was a great flight for the birds with reports of excellent returns with most birds homing in the first hour.

Sad note from John Hood that, Jamie Carberry send me a message to say his Dad had passed away peacefully last night surrounded by his family, the term gentlemen is used a bit too often but John definitely fitted this category, top bloke and excellent fancier who will be missed by the Scottish fancy, John would have been 90 this year. RIP John.

Well another excellent race for returns produced by the Lanarkshire committee, well done to all involved.

The winners photos are there because I have them on file, those winners that aren't included is because I haven't got one. So please forward your club winners for inclusion in the articles.
