Lanarkshire Federation – Melton Mowbray Old Bird 12/06/2021
The weather forecast looked perfect for a good steady race from Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire Area in England. The race controller had us away at 07 30 am with a convoy of 2,800 and 17 other crates on board.
The race winner with a velocity of 1115 ypm for the 244 miles journey taking ix hours twenty five minutes was Jim Hendrie & Sons of Salsburgh village, south east of Airdrie recorded 1st sect,4th sect,1st Open Federation against 2,800 birds a fantastic win for the partnership.
The partnership consisting of father Jim, and sons Danny & Thomas have been on the crest of a wave over the last few weeks. They recorded a great race in the SNFC Huntington race their birds have hit form at the right time of the year.
Their winner is a yearling van den bulk check cock bred by Robert Fenech and was flown on the roundabout system. He has been a consistent pigeon showing excellent fitness on the race system.
The partnership are hard working lads who have been in the sport for many a year and deserve all the rewards.
Well done lads and I wish you all the success for the remaining season. Full report with photos here
Well done to GWP Macaloney partnership on winning the first seven race average .
The race itself was a very difficult affair with most lofts only having a fraction of their birds home at clocking.
