This week we arrive for our ninth race of the season, flying out of Kettering ,Northamptonshire, England .The convoy of 1,029 birds were liberated in no wind.
This weeks winner racing in the North section of the federation for the partnership of Young & Kelly who fly in the Chryston club.
Their winner flying back into lower Central, Scotland took 7hr 9 minutes for the 283 miles, recording a velocity of 1162ypm.
The partnership of Stewart Young and Karl Kelly had a brilliant race recording 1st,3rd,4th,13th,33rd,58th Open, outstanding racing from a small team of birds entered.
This weeks winner is a cheque yearling C that is no stranger to winning, with a 1st club ,15th Open from Leicester two weeks ago being rested from last weeks comeback race.
His breeding is C & C Lambrecht x Van den Bulk and has produced some good birds for them. They paired him to a new henlast year being a G/daughter of Olympic Rosita and Patrick Boeckx famous Sagan.
The winner was rested for one week before this brilliant win!
The partnership are no stranger to success following their brilliant season last year that seen them being the Champion loft of the federation.
Well done to Stewart & Karl on another top team performance.
West section winner is Mio Krivokapic of Greenfield club, Mio is a small team fancier with big results ,he houses his Old birds and YBs to a small 16 x4 ft garden loft.
This weeks winner is out of his McCormick & Hughes lines. She is a very strong hen in the hand and came well on the day to take the section prize.
Centre section-Johnny Sirrell is having a cracking season ,recording his second section win in a number of weeks. His winners Sire from Mr & Mrs Gregson of Preston,Dam is Shaun McDonough of Pelsall .This winner was also 3rd section last week.
Kevin Docherty was a good winner in Uddingston recording 5th Section,5th Open with a cheque hen who has been very steady to the loft this season,Her Sire is bred by good frienf Nip Forsyth of Coatbridge SC club which has bred 2 x 1st section winners for Kevin and his brother Mick who lives in Wales.
Unfortunately this sixteen year old passed away in the loft. He filled every egg in his breeding years. Im sure Kevin will have a few off him that can keep these lines going.
The Dam is a Gerald Delaney hen that was purchased direct as a youngster.
Other top team peformance came from another past federation Champions Gault & Quinn of Airdrie club who recorded 2nd,12th14th,17th,36th74th Open federation.
Their Cattrysse foundation pigeon just seem to love these tough longer races.
Well done lads.
The race itself was a tough affair for the pigeons with big gaps and plenty of birds missing at night fall. So what's new at this distance!
After a delegates meeting on Sunday 21/06/26 the race point Alnwick has been replaced by Blaydon .Also Wetherby has been replaced by Ripon.
